SAP Implementation Accountant (FTC)
Aircraft Research Association (ARA) is a unique SME and the UK’s leading independent transonic wind tunnel with a passionate workforce of engineering and aerodynamic professionals. We are a leading specialist in aerodynamic research providing complementary services and solutions to international aerospace and defence clients. Our clients include Saab, Bombardier, Boeing, Turkish Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, Comac and BAE Systems.
Typical projects include producing scaled-down military and civilian aircraft models, comprising multiple parts, which are assembled together and used as highly accurate forces/pressures measuring devices within the on-site high-speed (transonic) wind tunnel.
As a result of a requirement to implement a cloud-based SAP4HANA ERP system during the current year, we have an exciting opportunity for a SAP Implementation Accountant to join the Finance team initially on a fixed term contract of 18 months (with the possibility of becoming permanent on completion of the contract), and reporting to the Finance Business Partner.
The implementation will be supported by BAE and an external third party KAARTECH who will provide training documentation and host workshops.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring the success of the implementation.
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent upon experience)
Typical Hours: Full-time, 38 hours per week.
This is a varied and demanding role and it involves a number of duties and responsibilities including:
- Produce a detailed end-to-end documentation of all current SAP process.
- Facilitate the integration of the new SAP4Hana system to replace current SAP system.
- Identify, agree with the wider finance team, an optimal solution for the business.
- Co-ordinate with the SAP project lead and identify a finance SAP implementation plan including all necessary documentation.
- Co-ordinate with heads of business to ensure data migration and data cleansing activities are addressed to the satisfaction of the wider finance team.
- Key Finance representative at ERP meetings and co-ordinate with Parent company Finance representative.
- Lead internal ERP catch ups and reviews with appropriate heads of department.
- Attend monthly communications with other implementation entities.
- Document all decisions and reasoning’s for future reference.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing with relevant department/team members.
- Support parallel running of current and new SAP systems to ensure smooth implementation of system.
- Other Ad hoc support of Finance activities where required.
What we are looking for in you
- Experienced qualified accountant with extensive systems implementation skills.
- Must have knowledge of SAP4Hana/SAP
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, ability to work on own initiative.
