Store Release Simulation
The Two Sting Rig (TSR) is used primarily for store release testing and provides captive trajectory simulation or grid data; the CTS can also be used for flow field measurements around an installed model.
Stores can be positioned with six degrees of freedom – covering almost any possible combination of position and attitude (special store mounting techniques may be necessary for some cases). Using this system, positional accuracies can be measured within 0.05 inches or 1.25mm.
The TSR has been used for many and varied tests since its installation in 1979. Tests include the F-16, T-50 and Typhoon store integration programmes.
