I am currently a mature student at the University of Northampton, studying BSc Engineering in my second year. As part of this course the University and Northamptonshire Engineering Training Partnership (NETP) arrange two six month placements in local industry. I was lucky enough to secure my first placement with ARA.

At first, I was naturally a little apprehensive of how the placement would be, however, I found ARA to be an incredibly welcoming company and the staff here are all extremely helpful, even if they are busy, they’ll always take the time to help and explain anything.

From the outset I was given important tasks and projects to work on, from assisting in Tunnel testing to Research and Development in other areas. With ARA you are left to your own devices but have full support in everything you do. I have gained valuable work and personal experiences from ARA, which will go to aid me in my professional career.
