Javier - Industrial Placement

As part of the MSC, students are asked to carry out a research project throughout the summer.  I thought that it would be a good experience to do this in a research center where I would be able to gain insight into R&D in the field.   Furthermore, ARA holds a very interesting and unique position between the academic and the industrial worlds.

During my time at ARA I am developing some new methods to enhance the automatic mesh generation process around an arbitrary body.  This has given me the opportunity to learn about the development of a highly technical code, which is shared by several research centers.  This is an incredible opportunity to see one of the most advanced topics in computational aerodynamics.

Overall an industrial placement at ARA is a great opportunity for all those who want to do a research project for their studies in an engaging subject, and to get a glimpse into industrial research.
