Aline from  ENSICA (French Aeronautical Engineering School) Aerodynamics – Fluid Mechanics.

I chose ARA because it is an association with diverse aerodynamics work.  The three main aerodynamic related areas of work are CFD software development and support, CFD use for performance calculation and flow control, wind tunnel testing.  It makes it possible to increase one’s knowledge on all aspects of aerodynamics.

During my time at ARA I have worked on performance calculation and transition control on a European Supersonic business jet project.  I have used the whole CFD process from meshing to post processing to perform flow control on the wing.  It has been applied work on new configurations of aircrafts.

The Industrial Placement at ARA has enabled me to carry out a CFD process on hybrid meshes for non conventional new geometries.  I have increased my aerodynamics knowledge on boundary layer stability, transition control and wind tunnel testing.  It is a good complement to my studies for enhancing understanding on both aspects of aerodynamics and CFD.  It has been a good experience to improve my English too.
