Dennis Stanniland
Chief Aerodynamicist

Dennis Stanniland joined British Aerospace, Brough in 1969, having obtained a BSc in Mathematics at Leeds University. 8 years experience in the Aerodynamics Department at Brough gave him the opportunity to work on aircraft including the Airbus A300B, Hawk and various military aircraft research projects.
In 1977, he joined ARA as a Test Engineer and gained experience
in both wind tunnel testing, with a special interest in tunnel
calibration and data quality. He also worked in the field of
Applied Aerodynamics, notably in the use of CFD methods for the
aerodynamic design of novel configurations.
He was promoted to Chief Aerodynamicist in 2005 and was
appointed Head of the newly formed Innovation and Technology Group
in 2007.
